The “News” of Life.

New Year, New Goals!

If you are anything like me, you know the start of a new year is the perfect chance for new beginnings. Though some may argue that we don’t have to wait for a new year to get started with our goals, I believe there is no better time. Some of us (myself included) live for the “news” of life- new weeks, new months, new years. So if a new year is what it takes to get you motivated, it is your time to shine. 🌟
The more important, more challenging, part is sticking with your goals for the long run. Luckily, there are a few steps you can follow to help.
When determining your 2019 resolution(s) there are a few things you should keep in mind:
1. Be realistic. Yes, having dinner with Oprah would be super cool, but chances of that happening are pretty slim (though not impossible). However, setting yourself up for failure will only discourage future resolutions. Make sure your resolutions are challenging without being completely out of reach.
2. Get specific. Telling yourself you will save more money or workout more often is a great start, but all too vague. How much money will go into your saving each week? Will you workout everyday or 5 times a week? Setting parameters helps us stay on track and motivated.
3. Publicize your goals. My personal favorite. I’m sure you have heard of working towards your goals in silence, but sometimes we just need that sense of accountability to keep us going. The trick is to “speak your goals into existence,” if you will. If others know what you are up to, you are more likely to produce results. It’s how the human brain works. 🤷🏻‍♀️

So, whatever your 2019 resolutions are, I hope you are able to go a little further by following these steps.

Giving Thanks- Big and Small!

The little things matter, too!

Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on and give thanks for our many blessings: loved ones, health, food, shelter, etc. These are undoubtedly valid reasons to be thankful, but how often do we take a step back and show appreciation towards the little, less notable things in our lives.

Here are some examples of everyday things we can be thankful for this season:

  1. Coffee– An everyday essential for many that helps us get through our day. Just imagine not having it.
  2. Music– Ah, music. Whether filling a quiet space or being the life of the party, music adds a little spice to our everyday lives.
  3. Laughter– Laughter is correlated with happiness, and happiness makes the world a better, happier, place!
  4. Art– In museums or on the street, art adds a pop of color to our lives, one canvas at a time.
  5. Nature– Trees don’t only give us oxygen, they also give us breathtaking views. Look around you and take it all in.

Life would be pretty different without these things, wouldn’t it? Realizing how prevalent these “little” things are in our lives helps us appreciate them all that much more. Happiest and warmest wishes on this special holiday!

‘Tis the season!

Spooky season is over which means it is time to SLEIGH! Get your home into the spirit of the season with these super sweet and easy crafts.

  1. Cinnamon Stick Candle Holder– Super easy! Carefully glue cinnamon sticks around a candle holder using a hot glue gun. Let dry, and tie a ribbon of your color choice around it. Voilá! Just like that, you’ve got yourself a festive looking and smelling decoration piece.
  2. Succulent Pumpkins– Simply carve the inside of a small to medium-sized pumpkin and place a succulent of your choice. Paint and decorate the pumpkin for an extra touch!

REVIEWS

Gary Foote is your guy. We were looking for our first home in San Diego, and we heard from friends that he was an excellent realtor. Even though we were long-distance (he usually works in the Rancho Cucamonga area) we were confident that he was the best option for us. He was! Gary is amazing! We fell in love with the first house we looked at, and he was on top of everything to make sure we got it. He gave great advice, and made buying our first home EASY. He's efficient, personable, and smart. Exactly the type of person you want to help you buy or sell a home
